Anna and Ricks story...
How you met - Me and Anna met at work. I am a Physio and she is an Occupational Therapist so our jobs meant we worked together a lot!
The proposal - A few weeks before, I took Anna’s dad to the Rugby for his birthday. We had a few beers afterwards and I grabbed him for a quiet moment and asked him for permission. He agreed.
When Anna was younger, her parents would lay a treasure hunt around the village for birthday presents. I asked if we could replicate this and her Dad was really touched! So we planned a weekend to go to Eglwysbach (the one before her birthday). Peter and I lay the clues around the village the night before. Everyone was in on it - the pub, the neighbours and the post office!
That morning, Anna's family sent her off on the treasure hunt and insisted I went with her whilst they would stay behind. She questioned this a little and thought it was a bit unusual that they weren't coming but after I genuinely couldn't remember where I'd left one of the clues, I was safe! The clues lead to a bench that overlooks the village. But, when we got there a woman had taken the seat with her three massive dogs!! We pretended to look for this birthday present for a while with this lady trying to help too (all the while, I knew we were looking for the ring in my pocket). Eventually, the woman gave up. Anna turned round and I asked her to marry me!
Anna said yes and we celebrated with our families who were waiting back at home.
Wedding vision - A relaxed celebration with all our family and friends together! We wanted it to be in Eglwysbach because the village has always felt like home to Anna. It's been great to plan it with local businesses and family friends.
