The first thing that struck me about Delamere Manor was the stunning drive to the venue. Upon arrival, the relaxed and welcoming feeling enveloped me as stables and horses surrounded the area. The staff at Delamere were truly exceptional, providing a warm welcome to all of the guests.

This luxury Cheshire wedding venue boasts a six-acre lake, which makes for stunning evening photographs on the jetty. The gardens also feature a pergola, stunning lawns, and woodland. I was truly spoilt for choice at Delamere Manor and used the incredible locations for photography.

I want to share the highlights gallery of my photography work at Delamere Manor, a beautiful wedding venue. The place is simply stunning, and I have a soft spot for the jetty at night, with the lake in the background. It’s a magical location, and what makes it even more special is that a band member from Take That previously owned it. Although you may have yet to become familiar with the band, one band member knew how to pick a breathtaking location to call home. It’s a privilege for me to capture such beautiful moments for couples who choose this venue for their special day. The twinkling lights in the reception room are a sight to behold, and for me, it’s a feature that would have sold me on the venue alone.

Delamere’s picturesque landscapes and architectural highlights

The venue boasts picturesque landscapes with rolling hills, lush greenery, and serene lakes, providing a stunning backdrop for wedding photography. Architectural highlights include the grand manor house with its elegant façade, charming cottages nestled among the trees, and stables adding character to the surroundings.

One of the first things that strikes you at Delamere is its homely quality, which is a fantastic achievement considering it is a mansion. Of course, this allows your wedding guests to relax at Delamere, allowing me to capture photographs just as I love to, while guests do not notice I am there and relax in each other’s company at the moment.

I also adored the grounds at Delamere. It was lovely to see wedding guests wandering around. It makes my job photographing candids so much easier.

The jetty is one of my favourite spots in Delamere. Its beautiful backdrop creates a magical and relaxed ambience, making it the perfect location for wedding photographs.

We used the terrace leading off the manor for the group shot, which looked fantastic. The terrace was also an ideal guest mingling spot, and its fantastic light made for some incredible candid moments.

Last but certainly not least is the fairy light ceiling in the courtyard room at Delamere. How stunning does it look, particularly for evening photographs of the dancing?

Delamere Manor offers several picturesque locations perfect for couples to take photos. Among these, the most popular spot is the jetty, where the natural lake background and relaxed atmosphere provide a favourite backdrop. Another favourite location is the garden folly, where couples can take sunset shots. On sunny days, the garden folly is perfect for capturing a beautiful finished shot with the sun behind you. The summer house is also a great location, especially during summer when the foliage is out, providing a stunning backdrop for your photos.
Additionally, the steps leading up to Delamere Manor are an excellent spot for a photo, particularly for a back-of-the-dress shot. With so many options, acquiring all the best location options in one day may be impossible. Therefore, it’s best to take some time to explore the venue and choose your favourite spots to discuss with your photographer.

The history and charm of this iconic wedding venue

The history of Delamere dates back to 1784, when it was under the ownership of the Wilbraham family. Known initially as Delamere Lodge, it was later renamed to Delamere House. It was passed down through the family and various historical figures, but its most recent famous owner was Gary Barlow of Take That Fame. Whenever I shoot weddings at Delamere, it is always talking about and probably the only bit of history anybody is really interested in. I wonder if Gary ate here, etc! Nowadays, it serves as a luxury venue for events and hosts many celebrity weddings and parties. It is also used as a venue for film and TV, and I most recently spotted it on ‘Fool Me Once’ the very successful Netflix TV series.
