Plas Isaf has invested heavily in their barn. The barn is now boasting a stunning outdoor rustic bar area. Based in Corwen and surrounded by Welsh hills, this seemed the perfect backdrop for a styled Boho themed wedding photography shoot.

Having been a wedding photographer at Plas Isaf for many years, we could ask a few regular Plas Isaf wedding suppliers to get involved. We chose a boho style and used the latest pampas grass and flower cake wedding trends.

Before we were due to turn up at the wedding photography shoot, my phone dinged with a ‘Currently raining!’ message from Mari. Therefore, we needed to decide on whether to go ahead. A decision was made, too much planning had been done, therefore, we were charging ahead. Later, we arrived to no rain, however, it was slightly overcast, which we adore. I would like to go back and take advantage of the stunning North Wales mountain views with a beautiful sky and a sunset.

Using two wedding dresses

We had two beautiful dresses for this shoot supplied by Rosie at Cameo Brides, Llandudno, North Wales. The designers used were Bianco Evento and Ellis bridal which you can find in the Cameo shop. I went to pick out the dresses, and it is a lovely treat to have a day by the promenade in Llandudno, North Wales. I recommend it as a stop for any bride.

The Boho styled wedding shoot featured celebrity make up artist Caroline James. Firstly, Caroline did the stunning make up. Secondly, Caroline set the models long thick hair into a sweeping and weaved natural look. Lastly, finishing the look, Sioned from Pontytwr added flowers.

Boho inspired flowers

The flowers provided by the lovely Sioned from Pontytwr were a mix of spring colours pinks, yellows, and reds, adding to the boho vibe. Sioned used Pampas grass placed subtly in wine bottles to create the boho look at a lower cost. For those who do not want to spend a fortune on flowers consider filling free used items like wine bottles.

Finishing touches included the hand painted wedding jackets by Mimosa and a wedding hat by Primark. We chose the red jacket for a pop of colour and it looked stunning on the model.

Elwen who you might see on a cooking show on Welsh TV made the beautiful Boho styled wedding cake. The cake maker and chef used edible flower decorations from her own garden. I love the relaxed look and feel to the cake adding to a relaxed wedding atmosphere.

Over the years I have developed a close relationship with many suppliers. One of my favourite suit hire businesses is Trefor Jones Menswear. The family run business has the most fantastic shop in Ruthin. Certainly, with so much choice and variety of styles, it was hard to pick a wedding suit. We opted for denim blue colours and burnt orange two of the most requested colours now.
