I photographed this affordable micro wedding during Strict COVID-19 restrictions, therefore we were allowed a ceremony only. The couple chose Ruthin Town Hall for their wedding ceremony. We have done a lot of wedding photography in North Wales over the years, especially at Ruthin Castle. The couple got special permission from Ruthin Castle to have wedding photographs in the gardens there, as they couldn't go with their original plan of having a small reception there. So if you are looking for an affordable wedding photography package, then please get in touch.
Affordable wedding photography
We have been affordable wedding photographers since 2009, not to be confused with the cheapest! We invest heavily in the latest equipment and training and these do costs so we can't be the cheapest but we aim to be the best at the most affordable price we can. Please note this is my full-time job and therefore I can't offer the cheapest photography and compete against your Uncle Bob or the friend who does weddings on the weekend.
What I can say though is if you decide photography is not that important to you and you go for a budget option then you are probably getting it wrong! After the wedding, your photographs will become the most important part of your wedding. I know that right now you can only think of the wedding day itself, but imagine the day after: what will you be wanting to look at first? Think of a good night out you went on, what is the first thing you do the day after or even straight after the event? Does it have anything to do with photos? If the answer is yes, then you will want to invest in preserving the best memories you can at an affordable piece for your wedding day.
Ruthin Town Hall wedding ceremony
Melissa and Chris were up for a laugh. So funny together. I can only imagine they just laugh together all the time. They chose Ruthin Town Hall as their ceremony venue. Of course there were the Covid-19 restrictions and so it was ceremony only, but it still felt like an amazing wedding. Ruthin Town Hall has these old doors that look incredible and open up to reveal a beautifully tiled floor. There is an arch window which you would not expect to find in a registry office. It is an incredibly beautiful building.

The Weather was changeable
The weather was one of those days with 4 seasons in a day. Luckily for me I could capture a rainbow which felt very important during Covid and will hopefully symbolise that this is ending.

Everyone was emotional
The atmosphere was emotional. During the ceremony there was a lot of handholding, tears and general love in the room. For such a small ceremony, it surprised me to feel the emotions more than in a larger event. The family were lovely and had travelled far for the wedding. Mellissa particularly being thrilled with the effort made by her family and the help they had received for their wedding.

The couple
The couple both met on a night out. They both like motorcycles having the TT as one of theor favourite events over in the Isle of Man, also my husbands Jasons favorite time of year. They also love going on holiday together, renovating their gorgeous cottage and spending as much time as possible with their dogs. I love doggy people.

Their wedding day
To the couple, getting married was what they were looking forward to the most. They both wanted the marriage as opposed to the day itself to be their focus. The wedding day itself was to be celebrated with a small party of family.

Describing each other
Melissa describes Chris as very laid back outdoors type of person, he likes his own company he loves anything with an engine especially motorbikes and spends a lot of time pottering about on minor projects. Chris works as a joiner and doesn't take himself too seriously. He is adventurous and dreams big; he encourages Melissa to do anything and pushes her out of her comfort zone, given any opportunity.

Chris describes Mel as caring and thoughtful and does anything for the people she loves. He says she is beautiful but not noticeably confident and worries about what other people think. She has an eye for design and knows what she likes and can sometimes be stubborn. She never makes a cup of tea!

The couple are a relaxed couple who enjoy a giggle. They like to try new things and travel to different places with each holiday they take together, except for visiting the isle of man each year for the TT motorbike races. They both share a sense of family values and are both close to their families. They don't enjoy being the centre of attention but enjoy being social with friends.
