Sioned originally emailed me to say how much she loved our wedding photography and to ask if we were available for her October wedding. Luckily, we were, we love October and that is the month we got married so it is special for us.

They were originally planning a wedding that is right up our street, a DIY family wedding in a local barn. We had already photographed the Grooms brother’s wedding, Vanessa & Tom back in 2014 and they loved the photos. Its always nice to get a couple come to you for their wedding after seeing how you work in another wedding.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 arrived, and it looked increasingly likely their October dream wedding would be postponed. They decided to wait for the August Welsh government announcement before making a final decision about whether to postpone their wedding to May 2021.

In the end with so much uncertainty they decided to bravely go ahead with their wedding albeit with a change in wedding style. Now it was going to be a much more intimate affair with their wedding reception in a local hotel with 30 close family and friends. We absolutely love that Sioned & Stuart braved 2020 and went ahead with their wedding it was so special to be a part of.

The wedding itself was midday at their local Chapel in Llanfyllin called the Tabernacle Chapel on Bridge St.

Sioned got ready at her parent’s farm in Llanfyllin just up the road from another wedding I did the wedding photography for, Meg and Chris Davies a few years ago. After the chapel we headed over to the beautiful farm that Stuart and his family run in Dolanog with its stunning views.

The last stop was The Cann office Hotel, Llangadfan where we had speeches and a cake cutting. It was different but also incredible. You could see what this wedding meant to people including me in this time. It really lifted everyone’s spirits and was much needed in this time of lack of social contact and normality. I am so grateful to Sioned and Stuart for going ahead with their wedding even though it was not the huge all day party they were hoping for but the intimate wedding was actually just magical.

The day itself just felt so special like you were a part of history and showed that love just shines through whatever the circumstances. I hope you enjoy the wedding photos and seeing a part of 2020 history xx
