Pre-Wedding Shoots

What is a Pre-Wedding Shoot?

As the name suggests, a pre-wedding shoot happens before your wedding. The shoot itself normally lasts around an hour. I ask you to choose a location for the shoot.

What are the benefits of a pre-wedding shoot

  • If you are nervous about the camera, this will help ease your nerves before your wedding day.
  • You will have some professional photographs of yourselves not in your wedding attire
  • You will learn to pose for the camera
  • You get a chance to see how you pose together before your day so you can see what you think works well and what works less well for you both.

How to choose a location

Choose somewhere that is special to you as a couple. A place with a mixture of wide-open spaces and some coverage, like trees, is always a good option. Places with lakes, such as reservoirs, are also good options. You could also look at beeches or go for a city-urban feel. Wuan Y Llyn is my go-to location for its stunning views and quiet setting.

FAQ

Here are the most frequently asked questions

Yes, you can. It will change the dynamics of the shoot, so if you still want mostly couple photos, bring a helper who can babysit or dog-sit while you have some undistracted photos.

I shoot pre-wedding shoots on weekdays an hour before sunset (if the skies are very dark and grey, it is nice to have the option to bring this time forward). So you are looking at a weekday evening shoot. However, this can be moved if it is more convenient for you to have it earlier in the day. The shoot itself is usually 45 minutes to an hour.

Usually, we cancel the shoot and look to book a new date if bad weather looks likely; however, if you are happy to shoot in the rain, then I am up for it! I suggest having a few dates free in case of bad weather and you would prefer a dry photoshoot.

I will travel up to 45 minutes from CH4 0EU. If you would like a location further afield, that is fine, but it will incur travel costs. Travel costs are £10 per every 30 minutes plus any additional costs such as train travel, parking charges, etc.
