North Wales Wedding Photographer

North Wales wedding photography by Marie Lloyd

Hi, I am Marie Lloyd, a North Wales wedding photographer who offers wedding photography and 35mm film photography as an added service, along with BTS video. I know how to help couples relax, especially those who say they don’t like being in front of the camera. I lean into a natural and observational style, creating meaningful memories through photographs.

My photography style

I love colour, and so all my images are supplied in colour, but I also adore black and white, so you will get all your images in both colour and black and white. I have now dug out my old film camera, so you can add a roll of 35mm film to your wedding photographs to bring that arty, vintage vibe to your wedding day. Perfect for those who crave authentic, unfiltered, and un-doctored photos from the old days. My style is romantic, fun and natural, and I aim to bring in the latest trends and fashions in the most relaxed way I can, focusing on telling the story of your wedding day.

North Wales Content Creator

My BTS content creation is an add-on to your wedding photography. Using a mix of footage mostly from an iPhone, I filmed all the BTS action and a little of the main ceremony and speeches, etc., mostly in a BTS fashion. You will receive a vertical film, which is how most content is viewed these days, and in a shorter clip that is easy to share and will complement your wedding photography. All this is supplied within 48 hours, so you have quick content to share on your socials.

I have photographed lots of weddings and elopements that require shorter coverage, particularly at the Mold Registry office, followed by larger weddings or at local pubs and restaurants in North Wales. Short coverage starts at up to 3 hours and can be extended by 2 extra hours. Testimonials

  • “We couldn’t be happier with the photos we’ve received from Marie. Every interaction in the lead up to the wedding was friendly and professional, and when she arrived on the day, she was the perfect blend of calming influence and hype-woman.”
    Max & Emily – Wrexham
  • “Marie did the most amazing job for our wedding day. She judged the mood of the wedding perfectly, fitted in with our guest and made everyone feel at ease and comfortable. My partner and I usually hate taking pictures, and feel stiff and posed, however Marie got beautiful natural photos that made us both feel so confident.”
    Amber & Simon – Llanrwst
  • “Marie was absolutely amazing from our very first chat! Not only are her pictures wonderful but she is such a lovely person, she answered all my very many questions, put my mind at ease when I got over whelmed and had perfect communication throughout the whole process.”
    Amelia & Keron – Llangollen

My experience at North Wales Wedding Venues

I have been photographing since 2009 and so have photographed at the majority, if not all, of North Wales wedding venues. Including barn wedding venues such as Tower Hill Barns, Henblas and Hafod Farm, for which I am recommended as a supplier. I adore North Wales country houses, and some recent ones I have photographed include Tyn Dwr HallSoughton Hall, and Highfield Hall. My years of experience at these incredible North Wales venues mean I am relaxed in both new and older venues and have forged many relationships with suppliers over the years.

Learn more about me

I started out taking evening photography classes in 2008 and then took private lessons with a wedding photographer to move into the wedding world. I photographed my first wedding as a second photographer in Plas Isaf, Corwen, North Wales. I was hooked from that day. There is nothing like driving to work knowing everyone will be excited, in a great mood, and ready for a wonderful day ahead.

From then on, I built a website and called myself Marie Lloyd Photography, not imaginative, I know, but I have good SEO with that name now, so I can’t change it to anything cooler! I photographed 16 weddings in my first year, and I have tried to work out how many weddings I have photographed since, and it must be 400 plus now. From that experience, I feel that there is no wedding scenario that you can throw at me that I cannot handle.

I love moving with the times and keeping up with trends. I take a new course every year and also strive to keep learning and growing my photography skills.
